Ram Navami 2012 Date

All across India, the day of Ram Navami is celebrated as the birthday of the Lord Ram, one of the most familiar and loved deities in the Hindu pantheon. Lord Ram is known as the seventh incarnation of the Dashavatara of Vishnu and was born to the Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya of Ayodhya. The Ram Navami festival falls in the Shukla Paksha on the Navami, the ninth day of the month of Chaitra according to the Hindu calendar.

The nine days leading up to Ram Navami are days of fasting and prayer for the devout, and the day of the festival itself is marked by pujas and satsangs (public gatherings). The period is also known as Shri Rama Navratra.

राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा पाटिल ने सात समुंदर पार की खूब यात्राएं कीं। इन दौरों पर देश के सरकारी खजाने से तकरीबन 205 करोड़ रुपये खर्च हुए हैं। यह अपने आप में एक रेकॉर्ड है। उन्होंने इस मामले में देश के पूर्व राष्ट्रपतियों को काफी पीछे छोड़ दिया है। यह खुलासा सूचना का अधिकार कानून (आरटीआई) अर्जियों से हुआ है। ये अर्जियां 3 साल पहले डाली गई थीं, अधिकारियों ने इनका जवाब देने में कोई खास दिलचस्पी नहीं दिखाई थी।

आरटीआई के मुताबिक, राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा पाटिल ने अपने कार्यकाल में 12 विदेश यात्राएं कीं। इस दौरान वह 79 दिन तक विदेशों में रहीं। राष्ट्रपति ने ब्राजील, मेक्सिको, चिली, भूटान, वियतनाम, इंडोनेशिया, स्पेन, पोलैंड, रूस, ताजिकिस्तान, ब्रिटेन, साइप्रस, चीन, लाओस, कंबोडिया, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, सीरिया, मॉरिशस, साउथ कोरिया, स्विट्जरलैंड और ऑस्ट्रेलिया जैसे 22 देशों का दौरा किया।

राष्ट्रपति की विदेश यात्रा पर जो कुल 205 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए गए, उनमें एयर इंडिया को 169 करोड़ चुकाए गए। अब भी एयर इंडिया के 16 करोड़ रुपये का बिल बाकी है। इस दौरान विदेश मंत्रालय ने ठहरने के इंतजाम, डेली अलाउंस और अन्य चीजों पर 36 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए।

एपीजे अब्दुल कलामः कलाम ने अपने पूरे कार्यकाल के दौरान 7 विदेश यात्राएं कीं। वह 47 दिन तक 17 देशों के विदेशी दौरे पर रहे।

के.आर. नारायणनः पूर्व राष्ट्रपति के.आर. नारायणन ने 6 देशों का दौरा किया और वह 46 दिनों तक विदेश यात्रा की। इस दौरान उन्होंने 10 देशों का दौरा किया।

शंकर दयाल शर्माः पूर्व राष्ट्रपति शंकर दयाल शर्मा ने अपनी 5 साल की अवधि में 4 विदेशी यात्राएं कीं। उन्होंने 16 देशों का दौरा किया।

What YOU carry is a ten foot length of pass-link chain. This is your leash.

Pass-link chain is the stuff where the links will fit through each other. This is important. You need this so you can hook on a safety clip. The chain is looped about the tiger's neck and acks as a giant choke-chain, but the clip is there to keep a loop of some sort in case things go badly wrong. You carry the chain looped in one hand in a peculiar fashion which permits the whole length of chain to be dragged from your hand without taking your hand and/or arm with it. You practice this beforehand till you're sure you've got it right.

A guide to walking tigers

Tigers really are as big and poofy and soft as they look, and they purr like a freight train going by. You find this out by taking one for a walk. To take a tiger for a walk, you first need a tiger. Tigers fresh from the bush are not recommended for the inexperienced. What you need is one who's used to the procedure. He or she is thus liable to be merely playful, rather than actively irritated. You also need a friend, whom you really, really trust. The friend carries an apple wood cane; apple, or some other wood which will bend under stress rather than shattering. This, friend, is your backup, and the cane is his or her only tool for everything, from knocking stuff out of the way that the tiger is liable to eat, to crowd control, to hooking on and madly hanging on if things go wrong.
